Ossie Pattin
Relief Pitcher | Free Agents
Pitching If you're going in to face Pattin, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Pattin, and that's saying a lot. Pattin has no endurance. He's good for an inning an outing, tops. The one thing I must say I don't like about Pattin is how easily rattled he gets. If he makes a mistake to a hitter and the guy winds up on second or third, you can pretty much count on the guy scoring. If he ever adds a pitch to throw to lefties, he could make a big leap forward.
Defense & Hitting He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. His move to first base continues to be erratic, resulting in poor throws at times. Pattin is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Pattin has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Free Agents have been known to use Pattin as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2010 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Pattin to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks. But if you ask me, I'll pass on Pattin.
