Hitting
In past seasons, Pena has been a bit of a liability with men on base. This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Al Pena to pull the ball.

Baserunning & Defense
He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal. Pena doesn't read balls well off the bat, misses cutoff men consistently and floats throws to the infield. Runners take advantage of his weak arm.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Pena to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
