Perez always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Perez is one of the fastest players in the game and the majority of his stolen bases are the result of his pure speed. He also can take an extra base as well as anyone. Perez isn't a fluid shortstop, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough.
