Franklin Pierce
Shortstop | Philadelphia Phillies

Hitting
One of the nice things about Franklin is that he's a real clutch hitter. Pierce never has been a patient hitter. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. You can expect Franklin Pierce to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
Pierce plays a near-flawless shortstop, making very few errors. His arm is accurate enough. Pierce is an above-average runner, but lacks the first-step explosiveness needed to become a basestealing threat.

2010 Outlook
In two full big league seasons, Pierce already has done more than what scouts projected when he came out of college.
