Pitching
Never a hard thrower, Poole now has games when he can't hit 85 MPH with his fastball. He frequently leaves fastballs up in the strike zone, where they get pounded. He traditionally fares better against lefties.

Defense & Hitting
He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Basestealers have succeeded against Poole because his pickoff move is weak for a lefthander. Poole is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Poole has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Poole as a pinch-runner on occasion.

But if you ask me, I'll pass on Poole.
