Hitting
Rattler provides an ongoing clinic on how to hit .300. He works the count in his favor, waiting for his pitch or settling for a walk. He's still a singles hitter at heart, and knows how to shorten up and protect the plate with two strikes. In past seasons, Rattler has been a bit of a liability with men on base. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. The statistics don't lie: Rattler gets most of his home runs against lefties. He likes to pull the ball, but don't be surprised if he puts the ball the opposite field from time to time. He's a smart batter and takes good note of how the fielders are shading him.

Baserunning & Defense
You might not expect it, but Rattler is a pretty good fielder too. His arm is accurate enough. Rattler is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.
