Jose Reyes
Shortstop | New York Yankees

Hitting
He has a very quick bat and can adjust to a pitch's movement as well as any hitter in the game. Reyes always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Reyes uses the entire field and typically produces a couple of hitting streaks of 10 or more games during a season.

Baserunning & Defense
Reyes plays a near-flawless shortstop, making very few errors. His arm is accurate enough. Reyes is an above-average runner, but lacks the first-step explosiveness needed to become a basestealing threat.

2010 Outlook
The New York Yankees were smart, they locked Reyes up to a long term contract. There's no question in anyone's mind he's a franchise player. This kid has earned his ticket to AAA. The New York Yankees will call Jose Reyes up as soon they have a roster spot and a tailored uniform. Reyes is in charge when he's at the plate.
