Al Ripken
Right Fielder | Free Agents

Hitting
Ripken never has been a patient hitter. But Al's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Ripken always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Free Agents do tend to sit Ripken when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
Ripken plays mostly right field, where his mediocre range and throwing arm are less than ideal. He'd be better off in left. He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Ripken to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
