Art Ripken
Second Baseman | Free Agents
Hitting Ripken seems to become especially focused in big situations. He thrives late in games. Ripken never has been a patient hitter. Let's face facts: Ripken hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. Any manager would love to have this guy on his bench. He's a perfect for pinch hitting against a lefty reliever. He absolutely loves playing before the hometown crowd.
Baserunning & Defense His defense is solid but unspectacular. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. Ripken isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.
