Ray Schaffernoth
Relief Pitcher | Free Agents
Pitching When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. If you're going in to face Schaffernoth, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Schaffernoth, and that's saying a lot. He traditionally fares better against lefties.
Defense & Hitting Teams run on him more than they do most lefthanders. Schaffernoth is agile on the mound, though he makes needless errors when his concentration wanders. Schaffernoth is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Schaffernoth has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Free Agents have been known to use Schaffernoth as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2010 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Schaffernoth to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks. But if you ask me, I'll pass on Schaffernoth.
