Peter Sellers
Starting Pitcher | Texas Rangers
Pitching Sellers can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Sellers also has a decent changeup. He tends to work slowly when in a jam, which just makes his problems worse by lulling his fielders to sleep. This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup.
Defense & Hitting He shows a good pickoff move and never lets runners detract from his pitching. He gobbles up comebackers, sometimes roaming far from the mound to get a glove on a ball. Sellers is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Sellers has some pop in his swing.
