Armando Smythe
Left Fielder | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
In past seasons, Smythe has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Smythe is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Smythe always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Smythe when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. Smythe often has trouble scoring from second base on singles and goes from first to third only on hits to right field.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Smythe to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
