He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. Taveras never has been a patient hitter. Taveras always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Free Agents do tend to sit Taveras when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
His defense is solid but unspectacular. His arm is accurate enough. His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Taveras to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
