Upham never has been a patient hitter. In past seasons, Upham has been a bit of a liability with men on base. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Ty Upham to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
When you play Upham you're not putting him in for his glove. Ty's arm leaves a little to be a desired. He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Upham to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
