Fernando Valenzuela
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Pitching
Valenzuela also has a decent changeup. Valenzuela also throws a screwball. He walks too many hitters and throws too many pitches. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Valenzuela, and that's saying a lot. He's trying to develop a sinker, but as of yet it's been well below par. He traditionally fares better against lefties.

Defense & Hitting
His slow delivery makes him fairly easy to steal upon, but Valenzuela helps himself by holding runners with throws to first, and with slide steps and varied deliveries to home. Valenzuela is nothing special in the field. Valenzuela is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Valenzuela has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Valenzuela as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2010 Outlook
But if you ask me, I'll pass on Valenzuela.
