Count VonCount
Relief Pitcher | Chicago White Sox

Pitching
His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. The Chicago White Sox hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. He attacks lefties and righties the same way.

Defense & Hitting
Basestealers rarely test him. VonCount has been regarded as a poor fielder throughout his career, and last year was no different. VonCount is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but VonCount has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Chicago White Sox have been known to use VonCount as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2010 Outlook
The Chicago White Sox signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop VonCount like a hot potato if something better comes along.
