Hitting
He sometimes will press in clutch situations and chase fastballs up and out of the zone. Wheller always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The St. Louis Cardinals do tend to sit Wheller when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball. He uses the entire field and has gap power.

Baserunning & Defense
His defense is solid but unspectacular. Connor's arm leaves a little to be a desired. Wheller doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often.
