Trevor Wilson
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching It's tough to get much loft on the ball against him, as he works down in the strike zone to begin with and his two-seamer produces mostly groundballs. Because he can't overpower hitters, Wilson has to fool them instead. But Wilson, do us a favor. Stop throwing that changeup. It looks like a beachball. He's trying to develop a sinker, but as of yet it's been well below par. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.
Defense & Hitting Runners do not get a good jump on Wilson... many have noted that his motion is difficult to pick up. Wilson is nothing special in the field. Wilson is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Wilson has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Wilson as a pinch-runner on occasion.
