Perry Winegarner
Shortstop | Free Agents
Hitting The book on Winegarner is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. With his slap-hitting approach, Winegarner always hits like he already has two strikes. The results are usually groundballs or line drives to the opposite field. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. You can expect Perry Winegarner to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.
Baserunning & Defense His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal. Minor league scouts have accused Winegarner of being a liability in the field. His arm is accurate enough.
2010 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Winegarner to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
