Pitching
His sinking two-seam fastball and slider produce tons of groundballs. This guy has closer written all over him. Wohlers is blessed with tremendous movement on all his pitches, particularly a fastball he throws at 95-97 MPH with hard boring action. Wohlers's control is among the best in the game. He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. He traditionally fares better against lefties. He absolutely loves playing before the hometown crowd.

Defense & Hitting
Wohlers's move to first base is average. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Wohlers is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Wohlers has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Wohlers as a pinch-runner on occasion.

I really like what this kid brings to the table.
