Bobby Wright
Shortstop | Free Agents

Hitting
Wright never has been a patient hitter. But Bobby's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Wright always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. It's hard to explain but Bobby Wright plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Wright signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.

Baserunning & Defense
He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Wright to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
