Hitting
He thrives late in games. With his ability to hit for average and his sound batting eye, he makes a good No. 2 hitter. Yount always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He doesn't perform well against right-handed pitching. Yount tends to zone in on the power-alleys. Most of his outfield hits are to left and right center.

Baserunning & Defense
Yount isn't a fluid shortstop, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. Robin's arm leaves a little to be a desired. Yount isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out.
